Advocates for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Reduction (AHPR) is a non-governmental, youth-led organization founded in July 2023. Our primary focus is to prevent and reduce new HIV infections in Zambia among Adolescents and Young People (AYP), particularly Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW), through awareness, sensitization, and policy influencing on HIV/AIDS.

AHPR has a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Zambia to implement HIV advocacy and Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health (ASRH) programs among AYP. The organisation has been granted authority by the Ministry of Education to implement health promotion activities in schools, colleges and universities in line with Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE). We are rooted in being a platform where young people themselves drive the agenda in the fight against HIV/AIDS and related illnesses. We have established AYP-friendly spaces such as Health Corners in learning institutions designed to deliver accessible HIV services ensuring widespread impact and support.

We are currently present in Lusaka Province (Lusaka, Chilanga, Chongwe & Kafue districts), Southern Province (Livingstone, Kazungula, Chikankata, Namwala, Choma & Monze districts), Copperbelt Province (Ndola & Kitwe districts) and Central Province (Kabwe district).
